With nice savannah landscapes and mountains rising up in the background, the remote Kidepo Valley National Park is a true gem of Uganda’s nature.
The park spans 1,442 km2 and ranges from 900 to 2.750 m in altitude. Due to its remote location on the border with South Sudan, Kidepo Valley National Parkis possibly the only national park left on the whole continent where you can almost have the park to yourself (average of six guests per day).
Game viewing is possible by vehicle on dirt roads that crisscross the southern and western parts of the park. A few trunk roads are improved with marram and are passable in all weather.
Additionally, Kidepo N.P is a home to most of all animal species present within the Uganda’s thrilling National Parks system, featuring lion, giraffe, elephant, buffalo, leopard, ostrich and cheetah.
Kidepo Valley N.P. was recently rated 3rd-best National Park on the Africa continent by CNN.
